Infinite Darkness...

A handful of people, in the name of ‘mob-fury’, has beaten a professional with an iron rod, broke his legs. Then they put him on fire and waited till he died. All these happened because he was representing the management and was up against the union workers of a plant. He was doing his duty and was not letting the negative venom get into every worker. In the name of mob-fury, only a specific section of people instigated by political backing brutally killed him. And all that the Chief Minister of the state saying is: “ no one can take law in his hands ”. Is that what we deserve to hear after such a killing, is it any less dangerous to our democracy as compared to any communal violence! Or do we actually, need to wait for a mass killing of hundreds of thousands people before we wake up. The man leaves behind a 12 year old son, who will keep asking ‘questions’ for the rest of his lifetime why his father got a treatment like this. Now, the case here is, the management knew there was an ...

Those Midnight Thoughts ...

I do this. I do that. I do so many things. I have moved on. So far. So long. Still every morning makes me believe I am behind. I am chasing. Actually, the families people like me come from, are meant to chase. Studies, career, money, growth, happiness and then die. We have an in-built fear to think beyond. Fear of failure. The pressure of society. The unfinished quest of success. The trouble of identity crisis. The madness of claiming victory. The heroics of grabbing a bigger pie of accomplishment. Pain of the distance of near ones, bitterness of the lost opportunities and hope of a better tomorrow.  Then these unpredictable rains. Those late night hours. And some unforgettable moments goes off in a whisker. The melancholic evenings - on things which could have been done better, for people who could have stayed back, for those days spent on having roadside delicacies, thinking how Mom has always made me believe that every stranger has some motive to come near you. Oh God!...

Being Single

Being Single (5th February, 2011) Situation 1: You get down from train where u should, go home, eat, drink & sleep. Situation 2: You get down 2 stations before, go to a mall & realize there's nothing to do there, take a rick, reach home, listen to some no-sense talks, eat while being watched, go for a walk, then listen some more, tolerate the mood swings and then get the feeling that your best friend should not be important, come walking back with a terrible mood, tired body & don't feel like drinking. Which one is better! Situation 1! Being Single is awesome & I am quite liking it. Do hell with all complications in life! Work hard, party harder. Being Single: 2 (22nd April, 2012) I don’t' know, but when I thought of jotting down one more 'Note', it is the same idea which played as the catalyst again. There is this guy on the verge of getting married who has been boasting around since ages of how large-scale his bachelorhood is, suddenly says...

And This Is How It Went...

Sab ka khushi se faasla ek kadam hai, har ghar mein bas ek hi kamra kam hai... Early teen age is not a good time to take important calls in life. Added to that, a bunch of crazy morons surrounding you with all sorts of inputs. To this mix, you add doting parents. And then a critical phase of studies. In between all these, the ever increasing love for the newly arrived MP3s n video games. With the freedom of getting into college and getting rid of the regular uniforms, the heart was pumping than the required speed. This early teen age you know! Now leave all these. Enters a damsel! Year 1 and 2... Kya kehke gaya tha shayar woh sayana, aag ka dariya doobke jaana... Now what... Nothing, the game's over! They say enter a girl and your life will never be the same again. The guy never believed it, still don't too. But his results for next couple of years supported the argument. Studies were at an all time low, parents were big time upset, neighbors were at their s...

The Way Ahead...

Post my foray into the world cinema and understanding of it, what I realized is that our tendency of comparing the level of our cinema with any other part of world is always one-dimensional. We always have got few yardsticks to measure and draw conclusions. For us, a Titanic is better mainly because of the size of the ship or the way it sank. A Fast & Furious is great because the car-chase sequences were pretty neat and breathtaking. We need to blame our distributors for this as well. As we traditionally bring in movies of action or horror genre. Distributors complained of lukewarm response to any other genres. Yet, today I do not find J. Edgar releasing in three of the biggest multiplex chains near to my home in New Bombay. But there are three versions of Underworld (English 3D, Hindi 3D and Hindi) releasing all over. Now, I am not complaining against any specific genre but till when we will continue to treat the audience with genres that has almost got nothing else to offer...

Year End Blabberings...

December has been quite a likable month for me as an individual. Birthdays (yes, I do celebrate on two days), Goa trips, Christmas fever and the year-end retrospections. All these constitute to my special liking to this month. The list is long though, will try to put them all here today. The last year and half has been crazy. The work schedule is insanely hectic. Just one trip to home. Little brother has been a part of Mumbai off late. I have become one more year older. Mumbai is still surprising me. New additions in buddies, new CCD mates, new perfumes. No significant addition to my gadget list though. A better maid, a great boss and best of the times in South Bombay. Same room-mate, same health and same relationship status. Seems I have been consistent in certain elements in my life. Still missing 25 th of December, the day I said someone that I like her. This year it completes 12 years of this brave act, out of which I’ll be celebrating my 5 th as a single! I’ll be into my 7 th...

It's Insane ...

It does not happen always that a guy like me will go to watch a movie thrice, it has happened earlier when I had to make it twice owing my commitments to friends and girlfriends and 'other' friends. But this time, I am just stuck with this flick. Though I was eagerly waiting for Imtiaz's next after his last three worthy projects, I was not prepared to travel through this insanely awesome journey of love. When I saw it first two days post its release, I just had one guy commenting that this is worth watching, specially for its climax. And the rest said that the director goofed up in the climax. Nobody spoke bad about the movie though. Masands, Komals & others didn't say bad either. So I entered the theater with an open mind and just for Imtiaz.  Then the next 159 minutes were possibly the best Imitiaz has portrayed so far in his career. 'Rockstar' is not so much the rock as it is about an individual. It's about a man's journey through a span of 8-1...
